The people of the NT need to speak up and protect country, culture, water and climate from dangerous shale gas fracking.

The NT is a beautiful place. You know that.

But right now, 85% of the Top End is under oil or gas license, with companies lining up to frack thousands of wells across the Territory. At the last election, the NT government was elected to put a ban on fracking - but only a temporary one.

The Federal Government is piling the pressure onto the NT government to open to up gas reserves and allow fracking through our precious groundwater. Tony Abbott is even threatening to send in the military to communities who say no.

That’s why we have to show the NT government that fracking is not an option here. Join Traditional Owners for a rally in Darwin on November 18 at Civic Park.

The resistance is powerful. Traditional Owners across the NT are standing up against these fracking companies and to the government’s problematic consultation process. From Elliot, to Mataranka, to Alice to Borroloola young people, elders, station owners and the Darwin community - together we can stand together to ban fracking.

The NT Government is currently deciding whether or not to lift their temporary ban. The people of the NT need to speak up and protect country, culture, water and climate from dangerous shale gas fracking.

Where: Parliament House, Darwin
When: Saturday, November 18 at 10 AM - 2:30 PM
What: Territory big day out to ban fracking, kids activities, speeches and more

Seed Mob will be there, because we want to protect Aboriginal communities, and our collective water source from the dangers of fracking. Earlier this year we brought over two First Nations women from North America and they warned communities across the NT about the water, road train, FIFO and land impacts of fracking - this is not the future we want for the NT.
